Appointment of An Information Officer Under RTI Act

Right to Information Act  came into  force from 3rd February  2017.    The Government has now appointed information officer as well as the Appeal Officer.

M.G. Jayatissa, the Director (Information) has been appointed as the Information Officer of the Department of Government Information under the Right to Information Act.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Government Information Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya will be the Appeal Officer for the Department of Government Information.   The Appeal Officer and the Information Officer can be contacted with following numbers, 011- 2512751 and 011- 513953, the Government Information Department said.
