University Lecturers Poised to Strike Today

The Federation of University Teachers Association, Senior Lecturer KP Nishantha said, they  will launch a token strike both today and tomorrow.

He said the trade union action is being  based on several demands including salary anomalies. He further said the token strike  being  launched as discussions held with the government were unsuccessful.

He  said accordingly all lecturers in state universities will refrain from lecturing today and tomorrow.
