Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa failed to report to the Presidential Commission this morning due to personal reasons, his lawyers said.
A spokesperson to the former president said they have requested for another date.
Mahinda Before Presidential Commission Today
The former President cum current SLFP Kurunegala District MP Mahinda Rajapaksa has been summoned by the Presidential Commission today, to record a statement related to an alleged case of financial misappropriation that had taken place at the SLRC during the last regime.
He has been ordered to appear before Presidential Commission at 10 a.m.
According to the sources the former President is to be questioned regarding a financial loss caused to the SLRC when broadcasting election advertisements during the last presidential election campaign.
