COPE Divided on SAITM Investigation

Then Government granted approval to establish SAITM Private College in the year 2008.In the year 2011, then Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayake has granted approval  to SAITM to  issue medical degree through gazette notification in August 2011.

Parliamentary sources said, while JVP and TNA party members expressed their views against the SAITM, UNP members continued to support it. While the SLFP  members remains silence on this issue, Mahindananda Aluthgamage representing the Joint Opposition reported to have walked  out of the committee.
