Pope Francis says he too wished to emulate President

The charming and simple lifestyle of President Maithripala Sirisena was highly appreciated and evaluated by Pope Francis by saying that he too would like to follow the simple lifestyle of the President, said Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith.
Addressing the students of St. Benedict’s College Colombo on its 150th anniversary, the Cardinal said that the exemplary lifestyle of President Maithripala Sirisena had become a role model for Vatican.

“When I visited the Pope recently, he asked me about President Sirisena. In response, I said the President was rather a simple person. The Pope admiring the simple lifestyle of the President said he too would wish to emulate the President’s charming lifestyle,” he noted.
