Namal Accuses Government for Meethotamulla Garbage Disaster

Hamabanthota MP Namal Rajapaksa  blasted the Government  for not taking  adequate  steps  to prevent collapse of Meethotamulla garbage mount.

The government waited till the Meethotamulla garbage dump collapsed to take action on it.

We  allocated  money in the 2014 Budget to resolve garbage issue  in Sri Lanka. It is Good Governance  Government that stopped  taking follow up action on it.

 These people sold the Meethotamulla garbage problem to get into parliament – where are they now?, he asked.

They have even stopped people from protesting against the dumping of garbage in their areas.

 Is this democracy ?  Namal asked.
