Arbitrary Increase of White Sugar Price Unauthorized

The Chairman of Consumers Protection Authority ,Hestia Thilakeratne said , that the traders can’t increase the price of white sugar arbitrarily on their own without obtaining the approval from the authority, White sugar is one of the essential service items listed by the Authority a Maximum Retail Price fixed. If the Traders want to increase the price they should obtain the approval of the authority. This has been informed to the essential service goods importers union, he concluded.
