The President has called for a meeting to discuss ways and means to control the spread of dengue in and around
Colombo on Saturday(17) and the absence of Chief Minister of the Western Province was conspicuous.
Government sources said, that the President said to have lost his patience and given ultimatum of 3 days to Chief Minister of Western Province to clean up Colombo city.
In the meantime,Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe went on an observation round in Pettah, Colombo yesterday to identify the issues which have arisen due to the accumulation of garbage and waste in the area. The Prime Minister identified the accumulated garbage on Bodhiraja Mawatha and around the SLTB bus stand.
In the meantime,Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe along with Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva and Ravi Karunanayake went on an observation round in Pettah, Colombo yesterday to identify the accumulated garbage issues and waste in the area. The Prime Minister identified the accumulated garbage on Bodhiraja Mawatha and around the SLTB bus stand. The Prime Minister instructed Commissioner of the Colombo Municipal Council V. K. Anura to take steps to immediately remove garbage from these locations.
