Gin Nilwala Diversion Project  Rs 4.1 Billion Fraud Arrest Warrant  Issued on Former Ministry Secretary  

In  Gin- Nilwala Diversion project. , Rs 4.1 billion  have been paid to a Chinese company, which in turn  had been remitted to a Hongkong company belonging  to Thirukumar Nadeshan , a sibling  of Rajapaksas but no work has been carried out.

Followed by police investigations  and charges framed against  former Secretary to  the Ministry  of  Irrigation and water  Management  Ivan de Silva,  the case was taken up for inquiry yesterday. The Colombo Magistrate  issued a warrant for the arrest of him.

Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne made this order in  pursuant to a request made by FCID. The Warrant written in English and Sinhala was issued  on the  former  Ministry Secretary  since he is abroad ( New Zealand) .  The FCID stated that although the 2015 budget had allocated a sum of Rs 2,902 million had been  paid to Chinese company without government ‘s consent.
