Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rishad Badiutheen, while participating in a discussion held yesterday (18) in Kandy with representatives of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress regarding reconstruction of party branches said, that in India when changes were made in the Election system, Muslim representation was reduced to mere 2% for 26 % of Muslims.
There is a well planned conspiracy in Srilanka to reduce the Muslim representation. Hence, he cautioned what happened to Indian Muslims, the same fate would befall on Srilankan Muslims.
Former leader thought as he has finished the chapter of Prabaharan, he behaved in an authoritarian manner and completely ignored Muslim interests. Hence, he has to confine to his house today. Muslim society worked hard to over throw him and install good governance government led by Maithreepala and Ranil wickremasinghe. But this good governance government appears to be thinking, that Muslim aspirations could be ignored.
Leaders of the countries like Japan. Malaysia and Turkey, which had witnessed development revolutions, economic emancipation and won wars continued in power. Likewise Sinhalese brotherhood thought that Mahinda was inconvincible and would remain in power for ever. Former deposed leader now realized his folly of ignoring Muslims and now started embarrassing them today.
