Rishad demands compensation from Wimal

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Former Minister, Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen has forwarded a letter of demand to Minister Wimal Weerawansa, demanding compensation of Rs.100 million.

The letter has been sent demanding compensation for the allegation levelled by Weerawansa, who claimed at a media briefing, that a sum of USD 100,000, was deposited into a bank account maintained by Bathiudeen in the United States (US), during the 52-day Government of 2018.

Former Minister further stated that if no action was taken regarding the letter within 4 days, legal action would be sought against Minister Weerawansa.

Bathiudeen stressed that certain politicians are engaged in mudslinging attempts and making false claims against him, as elections are nearing.
