Power and Energy Deputy Minister said that the government should halt sending women to the Middle East as maids because a woman is ready to face execution and if that happens, we should stop sending once and for all.
Deputy Minister Ajith Perera while speaking in Parliament today (04)said that the country should refrain from sending women to Saudi Arabia if the scheduled execution of a Sri Lankan house maid is carried out.
Rizana Nafeek was beheaded and it was a serious setback for SriLanka and now another woman in lined up for execution, he added.Minister Perera brought a No-Confidence motion against the then Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion MP Dilan Perera over Rizana’s execution.
