Seya’s Murder Case To Be heard Continuously in Court

Rape and murder case of five year old Seya Sadewmi in Kotadeniyawa will be continuously heard in Court from today.

The case is being heard by Negombo High Court Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna. Charges over the rape and murder have been levelled against Saman Jayalath.

Seya Sadewmi was abducted and murdered on the 12th of September 2015. Thirty(30) witnesses are due to be produced before Court today.

Saman Jayalath was named the Chief suspect of the murder after acquiring his DNA samples, while several other suspects were arrested over the incident.

An examination conducted by Genetech Sri Lanka confirmed the DNA on Seya Sadewmi’s body matched.

Accordingly, the Negombo Magistrate’s Court took measures to file a case against the chief suspect.
