Adding Fuel to Fire Lakshman Kiriella In Further Trouble

Higher Education and Highways Minister, Lakshman Kiriella is in the middle of further trouble as another recommendation letter sent by him appeared on social media.

Allegedly sent by the Minister to the Rajarata University, this letter requests the university to consider the recruitment of a woman as a minor employee.

If she has fulfilled the qualification, the university may disregard her age, the Minister adds.

However, the  Minister’s stand is that he is empowered to make recommendations to the University under provision made in Act of Parliament.
