Bangladesh has in India’s upcoming visit a mighty challenge when they play the men in blue in a one-off Test followed by three ODIs. However, they were dealt with a serious injury blow ahead of the series on Thursday.

Mahmudullah Riyad, Bangladesh’s star batsman at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is set to miss the matches against India due to injury. “Mahmudullah hurt the index finger on his left hand while attempting a catch during the training on Thursday. X-rays revealed a fracture which usually takes three to four weeks to heal,” team physiotherapist Baizidul Islam was quoted saying as saying.

Mashrafe Mortaza too sustained a small injury whilst using a cycle rickshaw but he is expected to be fit for the series against India. (Sports sources)
