Current Situation in SL made Indian President Happy

Visiting  Srilanka Finance  Minister, Ravi Karunanayake met  Indian President Pranab Mukherjee  at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday. During the meeting, the Indian President said that he is happy about the present situation in Sri Lanka and was hoping to visit Sri Lanka in the near future. The Indian President and Karunanayake  discussed about the economies of the two countries.

President Mukherjee agreed to provide Indian assistance and share their experiences with Sri Lanka enabling Sri Lanka to be a powerful country in the region.

He emphasised the importance of the success of both countries to each other. This meeting was held during the Finance Minister’s visit to India to attend the Advancing Asia: Investing for the Future seminar jointly organised by the India government and the International Monetary Fund.

The seminar was held in New Delhi from March 11-13 with the participation of Finance Ministers from the countries in the Asia Pacific Region, Central Bank Governors, Economists and Civil society representatives.
