Probe Seychelles Links With Panama Papers – Ajith Perera

Followed by a bank being declared open and  commencement of direct flights  from  Srilanka, a sudden interest was shown in Seychelles in the recent past said,the Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ajith P Perera

He charged several high profile members and their families of dealing with Seychelles. Ajith P Perera said the government must launch a complete investigation into alleged financial malpractices of Sri Lankans as reported in the Panama Papers.

The Minister speaking at an event in Bandaragama said the 11 million documents were leaked from a Panamanian law firm called Mossack Fonseca.

They show how the firm helped clients launder money, dodge sanctions and evade taxes.

He said around 14,000 papers have been leaked on Sri Lanka citing 2,000 offshore accounts in Seychelles alone.
