Former Embilipitiya ASP Further Remanded

The clash was reported between a group of policemen and another group in a three storey building in the Embilipitiya New Town on the 4th of January.

Followed by police investigation, several policemen were arrested and former ASP is among them

Former Embilipitiya Assistant Superintendent of Police D.W.C .Dharmaratne arrested over his involvement in  the death of a youth during a function in Embilipitiya has been further remanded .

When the case was taken up for hearing today Embilipitiya Magistrate ordered remand  till the 18th of May

During the hearing, Embilipitiya Additional Magistrate Prasanna Fernando said the report of the second Post mortem examination of the youth who succumbed to injuries, Sumith Prasanna, has been handed over.

Accordingly, the Additional Magistrate ordered the Criminal Investigations Department to complete all investigations before the 18th of May.
