Avant Garde Vessel Captain Further Remanded Until 18th July 2016

The Captain, a Ukrainian, was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department on charges of illegally selling firearms within Sri Lankan borders and possessing ammunition and explosives without a permit.

The Avant Garde Vessel was seized by police on the 13th of October, 2015 and the captain was remanded  until 5th July 2016.

However  the Captain of the Avant Garde Vessel currently in remand was  produced before the Galle Magistrate’s Court  today and he is further remanded  till 18th July 2016 .
