Prez. states the need for strong language program in education system

President Maithripala Sirisena attending a meeting with Officials from the National Education Commission yesterday (09) stated that measures must be taken to improve the National educational Policy with emphasis on Language and technology related subjects.

The Presidents shared his thoughts that the language barrier must be broken in order to establish harmony amongst the people. He stated that a strong program should be implemented to teach Sinhalese Student Tamil and Tamil student Sinhalese.

Secretary to the President P.B Abeykoon alongside National Education Commission (NEC) Chairman Prof. Lakshman Jayatilake were present  alongside other officials from the NEC.
