Flood Affected Students Can Attend School in Casual Dress

Students affected by the inclement weather conditions experienced throughout the country will be allowed to attend schools in casual dress  for a few days considering the difficulties faced by them.

This decision was taken by Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam after discussions with Ministry officials, since the homes and belongings of many students have been damaged or destroyed by the landslides and floods.

The Minister’s Media Secretary said, the relief will be granted to students only for a few days until the situation returns to normal.
