Salawa Will Not be an Armoury in Future

Army spokesperson ,Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera said, while the Army camp at Salawa will be reestablished at the same location without armoury again.

He added that the 500m No-Go- Zone is still in force as troops are still engaged in cleaning up the debris. Meanwhile, the Colombo – Awissawella Main Road has been intermittently blocked near the Salawa Army camp by area residents again.The protesters keep on demanding to clear debris from their homes prior to opening the road. They also say their pleas are falling on deaf ears.
