Basil Appear Presidential Commission For Inquiry

Former Minister of Economic Development ,Basil Rajapaksa and the Former Secretary of the Ministry of Finance PB Jayasundara are due to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry today.
The duo has been summoned to the Commission at 2 this afternoon. The pair has been summoned to record a statement over three charges.
The charges include the deployment of 150 Army and Navy personnel for personal services and misusing state funds amounting to 260 million rupees.
The spokesperson at the Presidential Commission said the money is owed to SriLankan Airlines.
He was also accused of purchasing of 14 vehicles in addition to the three vehicles officially issued to a Minister and the expenditure of 20 million rupees for fuel during his tenure as Minister of Economic Development from the 2nd of June 2010 to the 7th of November 2014.
