Governor Denies Internal Inquiry in to Bond Issue

New Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy says a decision has not been made to conduct an internal investigation over the Treasury bond issuance of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Speaking at a media briefing yesterday, Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy said future measures will be taken based on recommendations by the Committee On Public Enterprises or COPE.

The new Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy says the present challenge faced is the stabilisation of the country’s fallen economy.

Further he said it is crucial to sustain the economy in line with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s five year plan.
