22 Drivers Lucrative Business During Night With State Vehicles

Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam. while travelling on a night with his driver confronted another driver of his Ministry , who overtook his car and blocked its path. The driver of that vehicle has abused the minister’s driver, and the Kariyawasam had a look at the assailant, and identified him to be a driver of his ministry. Immediately Immediately, the minister complained to Talangama police, and also phoned the transport manager of his ministry.

As the manager was asleep at the time, the Kariyawasam requested police to investigate the use of vehicles at his ministry. An investigation revealed the drivers were misusing ministry vehicles to run taxi services in the night.On identification Twenty two drivers attached to the education ministry have been suspended by minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
