Weather Forecast For 1st September 2016

Fairly strong wind at times (up to 50kmph) is expected to continue over the island.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-western provinces.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces after 2.00 p.m.

On the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 28^th of August and 07^th of September in this year. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (01^st) are Vellaiyadimadu, Maha-Illuppallama, Ipologama, Talaivillu about 12.10 noon.
