‘Star Wars’ Actor Arrested After Chase

 

Child actor Jake Broadbent, known for his role as the young Anakin Skywalker in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, was arrested in South Carolina last week after leading police on a car chase before crashing into trees, authorities said Sunday.

The 26-year-old actor, also known as Jake Lloyd, was charged with reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights, resisting arrest and driving without a license. Broadbent allegedly crossed the double yellow line on the road and drove recklessly while speeding, according to Colleton County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kyle Strickland.

The chase lasted about 20 minutes before Broadbent crashed. Authorities did not believe he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. (Foreign Media)
