Anura & Sumith Further Remanded

Former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Anura Senanayake and Former Officer in Charge of the Narahenpita Crimes Unit Sumith Perera arrested over the murder of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen have been further remanded till  2nd  November 2016. The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peries.

The Former Senior DIG and Former Crimes OIC were arrested on charges of concealing evidence in the murder case.

In the meantime Colombo Additional Magistrate Court ordered the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Medical Council to submit a report pertaining to investigations against Former Chief Judicial Medical Officer Professor Ananda Samarasekara before the 30th  November 2016.
