Second Post-mortem on Suicide Committed Army Intelligence Officer Jayamanne’s body

As  doubts   casted  on suicide committed by   Army  intelligence  officer,  police exhumed his  body  to carry out fresh forensic tests as there had been lapses in the first autopsy. Police suspect the suicide note found in his pocket at the time of his death may not be genuine.
The postmortem on the body of retired Army officer who committed suicide while claiming to have killed former Sunday Leader editor Lasantha Wickrematunga was conducted for the second time at Kegalle General hospital yesterday.
Colombo Judicial Medical Officer Dr.G.D.Perera,Judicial Medical Officer of the Kegalle General hospital Dr.Ramesh Alagiyawanna conducted the postmortem in the presence of a police team from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Kegalle Police.
The body was thereafter kept in the hospital morgue until court orders for the second postmortem.
