Mattakkuliya Quadruple Murder 2 More Arrested

Four persons were killed in the shooting reported in Samithpura, Mattakkuliya on Sunday.

Eleven suspects, including the main suspect of the Mattakkuliya quadruple murder, were arrested in Rathnapura and Kadawatha. A further 2 suspects have been arrested over the Mattakkuliya quadruple murder.

The suspects, arrested during a raid conducted by the Colombo Crimes Division, are 18 years of age and residents of Mattakkuliya. The duo is due to be produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.

Accordingly, a total of 13 suspects have been arrested in connection to the quadruple murder. Three victims who sustained critical injuries are still receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Chandana Kalansuriya granted permission to the CCD to detain the 11 suspects till the 31st of October for questioning.

Further investigations are being conducted by the CCD.
