Due to Salawa Protest March Traffic on Lotus Road Closed

Five months and five days have passed since the fire disaster caused by Salawa Army Camp blast. However, compensation for their properties damaged by the fire at the ammunition depot in the area has not been paid to the victims and completed.

Angry victims have organised a protest demonstration to draw attention of the Government regarding delay in payment of compensation to them.

Hence, the entry road to Galle Face has been closed for traffic from Lotus Roundabout.

As a result severe traffic congestion was reported along Lotus Road in Colombo Fort.
