Court Application to Ban Wearing of Burqa Dismissed by Delhi High Court

Sardar Ravi Ranjan filed a case in Delhi High Court seeking an order to ban wearing of burqa in New Delhi public places. He filed this action in the court in public interest.

High court Judges Chaired by Chief Justice G.Rohini dismissed the case stating, that if this is a policy decision the Government will interfere and take a decision. According to section 226 of the Indian Constitution this Court has no Jurisdiction over this matter, they announced.
