Thajudeen Murder : Anura & Sumith Further Remanded

When the  Rugby player  Wasim Thajudeen  murder case  was taken up for inquiry  today,  former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Anura Senanayake and former Officer in Charge of the Narahenpita Crimes Unit Sumith Perera arrested  and remanded in connection with the murder have been further remanded until  the 14th of December 2016 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Court .

In the meantime  the court ordered the Criminal Investigations Department to record a statement from former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Anura Senanayake in connection with the  death of 3 individuals,  who participated in the Rathupaswala protest.

The order was issued following a request made by the CID.
