Tress Passing Complaint Against Journalist at Hambantota Port

A group of employees of a private company  contracted  to supply workers to  Hambantota Port were engaged in a protest demanding the government ensure them job security as the government prepares to lease the Port on shared basis to a Chinese firm.
The employees were charged of forcibly holding two ships that arrived at the Magampura Port while steps were taken by the Navy to release the ships on the advice of the government.
Premier Wickremesinghe directed  the Navy Commander   to clear the passage  for free movement of foreign ships.  A journalist  from an electronic media organization  attempted  to enter the high security zone of the Megampura  Port. The Navy Commander intervened and  prevented him by using minimum force. This incident went viral in electronic and press media.  In the meantime  navy has lodged a complaint  with the police  that a particular  journalist  tried to  enter  high security zone area of the port without permission  or approval by the authorities.
In response , Prime Minister said , that it was he who directed  the Navy Commander to remove all obstacles. If any of the Navy personnel proved involved in an investigation, action will be taken against him, he concluded.
