Secretary of the Power and Energy Ministry Suren Batagoda said, that the Ministry has decided to adopt a mechanism to pay Rs 36 to hotels and factories over 100 units utilized by producing through the use of generators.
This decision was taken with the intention of ensuring an uninterrupted power supply. Batagoda requested the public to preserve electricity in the months ahead.Through the use of power sparingly the Ministry of Power expects on saving around 50 megawatts from the National Power Grid.
