Closure of BIA for 8 Hours From Today

Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA )  runway  was commissioned  in the year 1986.  It was decided  to repair and reconstruct  the runway at an approximate cost of Rs.7.2 billion.

The work has already started.  In order to facilitate  reconstruction of runway, the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake will be closed for airport operations for eight hours daily between 08.30 a.m. and 04.30 p.m. from today (January 06) to April 05, 2017.
