Namal Pleads Not Guilty in the Supreme Court

Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed a case in the Supreme Court that  the  Member of Parliament, Namal Rajapaksa has insulted  the Commission  by ignoring the summon issued by them.

Namal Rajapaksa  yesterday (16) pleaded not guilty, in the Supreme Court, to the charge of insulting the CIABOC.

Lawyers representing  Namal Rajapaksa, informed Court  that as their client was prepared to give a statement to the CIABOC ,  there was no requirement to maintain the petition any further.

However, the Supreme Court decided to hear the petition on 31^st  January 2017.
