CB Governor Indrajith Stand by His Staff

Earlier, the Anti Corruption Front (ACF) alleged that Deputy Governor Samarasiri is responsible for the controversial Treasury Bond scandal and urged the government to interdict him.

The ACF further claimed that the government is spending money on lawyers to defend Samarasiri adding that this should be stopped immediately and an inquiry be held.

During a press briefing  yesterday  Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajith Coomraswamy was responding  to a question  raised regarding the allegations levelled against the Deputy Governor P. Samarasiri    by a journalist said, that he has faith in his officials despite harsh criticism by civil society organizations.  I have been working with them for several months. According to my understanding, I have no reasons to lose faith in them, he concluded.
