Main Political Parties Nominations at final stage

 

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) stated that it would contest the general election with United National Party (UNP) except Vavuniya, Puttalam and Batticaloa districts.

Party Media Spokesman and former Parliamentarian Mohamed Aslam stated that the party would contest the election from the districts of Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Kandy, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura, Ampara and Kurunegala with the UNP.

Meanwhile, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva said that his party would start handing over of nominations tomorrow.

Frontline Socialist party (FSP) is going to contest a parliament election for the first time.

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) former MP M. A. Sumanthiran said that his party would hand over nomination for Eastern and Northern provinces.

Tamil Progressive alliance (TPA) leader Mano Ganesan said that their alliance would contest the general election for 7 districts under the UNP ticket.

The UNP Media Spokesman and minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that 90 percent of his party nominations have been ready at the moment.
