Special Training to Prison Officers

The   Kalutara shooting on a prison bus on February 27 a, cost the lives of seven people including two prison officials and underworld figure Aruna Udaya Shantha alias “Samayan”. Followed by this, a  decision was take to give a special training to prison officials transporting prisoners to Courts from prisons in consultation with the IGP.

The training conducted by officers of the Police Special Task Force will be given to select prison officials. The officer also said the Police Special Task Force will be assigned to transport prisoners in the meantime.
