Case Against Tissa Postponed

The case filed against former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake for allegedly preparing a fraudulent document has been postponed to 17 July by the Colombo High Court.
The former Health Minister, who was arrested and remanded for allegedly preparing the fraudulent document, was granted bail on December 05, 2016.  He is accused of forging the signatures of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena in a letter. Attanayake, who defected from the then opposition and was made Health Minister for less than three weeks, is accused of fabricating the document to discredit the witnesses.
