Media Ministry Accelerated Inquiry into a Complaint of Harassment to Female Employees

Recently, it was reported that in one of the electronic media institutions, head of the news division continue to harass female employees seeking sexual bribe. This matter was reported to the Chairman of the respective corporation.

In yesterday’s media conference, a journalist has inquired from the Media Minister about the steps that were taken on the complaint. Followed by this, media ministry has issued a statement ensuring accelerated inquiry into the incident.

In the meantime, to facilitate inquiry the director in charge of the Tamil news division has been transferred out. However, he continues to stay in the news division, frustrating the victims and other female officers. Female employees feel uncomfortable and unsafe in the hands of this type of sexual maniacs.
