UNP Geared For LG Election

The United National Party is to launch a special programme aiming at the upcoming Local Government Election.

 Party leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued directives to strengthen all organisations affiliated with the UNP.

Gampaha District Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna said, the UNP hopes to successfully conclude the party restructuring process adding candidates contesting the election will also be shortlisted.

He  added thousands of people have undergone interviews at the party headquarters Sirikotha.

MP Rajakaruna also said the first phase of selecting candidates to contest the Local Government Election from the Gampaha District has been completed.

He stated all seat organisers have been appointed and have been informed of implementing party restructuring, especially all organisations such as the youth front and women’s committees.
