Eight More MPs With Dual Citizenship in Srilanka Parliament?

Followed by court decision that Geetha Kumarasinghe is disqualified to be a Member of Parliament, she was removed from Parliament. The Secretary General of Parliament declared that the seat has become vacant and informed Election commission to take steps to fill the vacancy.

In the meantime , Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udya Gammanpila has made a application under Right to Information Act to the Commissioner of Immigration and Emigration to obtain the list of Parliamentarians holding dual citizenship and revealed that eight MPs in the current Parliament are holding dual citizenship. This will be confirmed after reply received from the Commissioner of Immigration and Emigration, said Gammanpila.
