A senior Minister Axed Anoma Gamage’s Wishful Dream?
Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources and wife of Daya Gamage wished that she be given the deputy minister post for foreign affairs and did all background work for it. Information revealed that she was to be given the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs.
With high expectation of getting the post, she went to the Presidential Secretariat on last Wednesday (31st) to participate in the oath taking event and waited there. In the meantime, one of the senior Minister’s has protested against offering this post to Anoma Gamage and axed it. Hence, when Deputy Ministers were called to take oath, she has not been called. Instead of her Vasantha Senanayake was asked to take oath as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
She returned home disappointed.
