NPC Education Minister’s Resignation Refused….

 Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C.V. Wickneshwaran  has appointed  a committee comprising retired judges   and a retired  public officer  to inquire  and report on  irregularities  reported to have been done by the NPC Ministers. The committee’s report was tabled before the NPC , which will be debated shortly.

In the meantime, Northern Provincial Education Minister T. Kurukularaja  has submitted his resignation letter to the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) party last afternoon.

But Leader of the ITAK and Parliamentarian Mavai Senathirajah has  asked Kurukularaja to be patient.He  had refused to accept the letter since a final decision has not yet been taken on the committee report .

However, several Provincial Councillors  have pointed out that, if Kurukularaja wants  to resign from his Ministerial post, he should tender the resignation to either the Chief Minister or the Provincial Council.
