Passport At Rs 100 Low Cost to Disaster Victims

Having considered  the plight of   flood and landslide victims, who had loss their passport , the Government of Srilanka  has  taken steps to issue  new passports at low cost  Rs 100 .

This will be issued on recommendation made by the Divisional Secretary. Anyone who has obtained passport after 1^st January 2017  and not gone abroad, a new passport will be issued to him at Rs100.

This concession is granted   till 30^th August 2017. Under current  method of issuing passport, if anyone loss or damaged their passport  they are called upon to pay Rs 10,000 to obtain a new passport.
