A New Policy on Teachers Appointment & Transfers This Year – President

The President  Maithripala Sirisena has  expressed his sentiments upon attending an opening  ceremony in Polonnaruwa, where a new building was donated to the students of the Sungawila Muslim Maha Vidyalaya yesterday (22).

He stated that  while some  school  have  excess of teachers  and other schools  experienced shortage of teachers .  This  situation has to be reversed.

 A new policy for teachers  appointments and transfers would be introduced towards the end of the year. After the implementation of the new policy, excess teaching staff members would be transferred to fill shortages of teachers in other schools.

President Sirisena stated that the decision was arrived at by prioritizing the education of the younger generation of our nation, and affirmed that no child must be deprived of education facilities.

He  further said that a new circular would be issued to officially implement this policy.
