Admitting Students & Issuing Certificates by SAITM Suspended

The Government is scheduled to issue an Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification specifying terms and conditions to SAITM, stated Secretary to the President, P.B.Abeyakone .

Releasing a statement, Presidents’s Secretary stated that University students have carried out continuous protest demonstrations in the past few months. Based on this Doctors went on strike. In response the Government’s position is incorporated in the Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification.

Accordingly SAITM is prohibited admitting news students and issue certificates until such time they fulfil conditions specified in the Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification.

In addition the Government has decided to change current Administration with a joint Government as well as Private partnership administration.
