Sri Lanka Customs media spokesman Sunil Jayarathne said, that a State Intelligence Services (SIS) officer was caught with 2kgs of gold jewellery concealed in his knee guard valued at Rs 9,148,815 while attempting to leave the arrival area of Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and enter the country. He was arrested by the police at BIA.
The gold jewellery in question said to have been brought by a passenger, who had arrived by flight UL 309 from Singapore at 9.15 pm last night and disappeared from the BIA .
